From your Pastor;

         “For  to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain.”                                                  Philippians 1:21

        So many Christians today misunderstand this verse. To Paul this statement in verse 21 is a fact, while many today look at this as a goal to reach.

They must try to live as to arrive at this goal, this standard, this expectation.  Paul is not saying this is a goal, he is not saying that many trials, years, or dealings with God must happen before we reach it.

What Paul is saying is That Christ is the reason he’s alive. This is not the hope of Paul’s life but the secret to his life. His life is Christ. He lives because Christ lives in him.

         Again Galatians 2:20  is another familiar verse often misunderstood. “ is no longer I who live but Christ lives in me.”  Is this a hope?

a standard?  a goal?  Of course not, this my brothers is a victory song, a chant, a declaration!

      This is not something set high and above us to obtain. It is not to be striven for, exerted upon, or by our power played out.

       Rather it is the secret to life;

                                 “Not I, but Christ”

As it is good news that we need not die, it is also good news that we need not live.

   “ whom God willed to make known what is the riches of the glory of this mystery among the Gentiles, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

                                                           Colossians 1:27

Consider these verses today

and let Jesus truly begin living in you.
