"...strive to have a conscience without offence toward God and men."

Acts 24:16

To our human nature, the commands of God are difficult.  But they become easier once we begin to obey.

Conscience is that ability within me that attaches itself to the highest standard I know, and then reminds me of what that standard demands. This is why the conscience is so different in people.  If I am in the habit of holding God's standard in front of me, then my conscience will direct me to that standard. The question is; will I obey God's standard?

God will always instruct us to the last detail.  Is my ear sensitive enough to hear the softest whisper of the Spirit?  Do I know what I should do?

The Bible says, "Do not grieve the Spirit..."  He will not speak with a voice of thunder; His voice is so gentle that we often ignore it unless we are in the habit of being attentive to it.  The only thing that will keep us attentive is the habit of being open to God's voice and will.

Keep your conscience clear, do not debate  Him;  But instead obey Him.
