" If your right hand causes you to sin, cut it off and cast it from you; for it is better for you that one of your members perish, than for your whole body to be cast into hell."

Matthew 5:30

Jesus did not say that everone must cut off his right hand, but that "if your right hand causes you to sin" in your walk with Him, then it is better to "cut it off."  There are many things that are legitimate, but if you are going to focus on God then you cannot do them.  Your right hand is one of the best things you have, but if it hinders you from following Jesus then get rid of it.

This teaching is the strictest teaching to ever come before mankind.  When you are re-birthed through Christ your life has the characteristic of being wounded.  There are a hundred and one things you dare not do.  Things that now would be sin to you.  But those unspiritual people around you will say, "What's so wrong with that?"  How unrealistic you are being."

There has never, never been a saint who has not live a wounded life, in the beginning.  Yet remember, it is beter for you to enter Heaven wounded and lovely in God's sight, then to enter whole in hell.

Jesus gave us His spirit to restrain us from doing what may be right for everyone else, but is not right for you.  But look at the reward in v48 that Jesus said is a well rounded life, "you shall be perfect just as Your heavenly Father is perfect."

Aim for this perfection my brothers,

Bro. Clay
