"Lift up your hands to Him, for the lives of our children."
Lamentations 2:19

The first Mother's Day was celebrated in West Virginia in 1912.  Mothers were to be recognized as an important part of our culture and lives.  The heart of a mother is like a rare jewel.  They love their children in the best and worst of times.

"When children are under their mother's watchful eye, she has an opportunity to fashion them aright.  Those who are now grown should often call to mind the teaching they received from their mother when they were young."
Matthew Henry

There is a poem written from a mother to her son, telling him the world would judge her, by how he was.  Does your life honor your mother?  Her teaching?  Are the lives that you touch better from that touch?  Are the people around you blessed from knowing you?

When our hearts and eyes are open to others to see them as God sees them, it is then that we are able to reflect Jesus into their lives.

"Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your good works and glorify your Father who is in heaven."
Matthew 5:16

This same heavenly Father that your mother taught you about.  Honor her today, by living for Christ Jesus.
