From your Pastor;

The eunuch answered Philip and said, “Please tell me, of whom does the prophet say this? Of himself or of someone else?” Then Philip opened his mouth, and beginning from Isaiah he preached Jesus to him.

                                            Acts 8:34,35

       The New Testament seems easier for us because we think we can apply it to our lives in a contemporary way. It is the smaller of the two Testaments and we quite often spend most of our time in it. Yet Philip did not use John 3:16 or the Romans road to lead this man to Christ. Instead he used the Old Testament.

       When Jesus taught from Scripture, (guess where) He used the Old Testament. Many of the authors of the New Testament will quote the Old Testament.

       Why not try to study in the Old Testament, and you will find more of where the New Testament comes from. Look for Jesus the Messiah in the Scriptures just as Philip had done. Perhaps you’ll come to know Him more and see Him in everything He has made.

   Thus says the LORD, “Stand by the ways and see and ask for the ancient paths. Where the good way is, and walk in it. And you will find rest for your souls”…
