From your Pastor;

         For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh; for the willing is present in me, but the doing of the good is not.
                                                                Romans 7:18

        It’s the start of a new year and gyms all across America will see a spike in new memberships. Why?
New Year’s resolutions. Nearly every top ten list includes the following resolutions; (1) getting in shape,
(2) losing weight, (3) exercise.
    Unfortunately, most of these resolutions don’t last.
Just wait until mid-February and you’ll find plenty of parking at the local gym.
     If were not careful we can do the same thing as we follow Jesus. We can make big promises about the things we plan to do for Him. We can try to impress Him with our performance. In the process we can forget two important facts;
     A.  -  God’s love for us is dependent on His grace, not our performance.  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.      Romans 5:8

     B. -  This life is not about what we can do for God, but what God can do in and through us. God does not need us…   The God who made the world and all things in it, since He is Lord of heaven and earth, does not dwell in temples made with hands; nor is He served by human hands, as though He needed anything, since He Himself gives to all people life and breath and all things.      Acts 17:24,25
      However, God desire is to use you in accomplishing His purposes and plans for mankind. Will you?

     As you enter this new year, don’t ask the question, what can I do for God, but rather ask, what can God do in and through me this new year.
